The New MAEQ-23644/54/64 Family Breaks the 100m Cable Reach Barrier

LOWELL, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- MACOM Technology Solutions Inc. ("MACOM"), a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions for broadcast video infrastructure, today introduced the MAEQ-23644A/54/64, a 2^nd generation 12G Serial Digital Interface (SDI) equalizer family. These long reach adaptive devices offer advanced performance solutions for 4K broadcast video applications.

The MAEQ-23644/54/64s are multi-rate, highly integrated, adaptive cable equalizers with integrated relocker to support next generation SDI video. This family provides adaptive, low noise, high gain equalization for 75 ohms coaxial cable at date rates from 19 Mbps to 11.88 Gbps. These devices boast the ability to compensate for losses accumulated across cable lengths exceeding 100 meters when operating at 11.88 Gbps over Belden 1694A coaxial cable. The second generation equalizer family is also footprint compatible with MACOM's first generation M23544/54/64 family of devices, offering existing customers an upgrade path for existing designs with minimal changes. Additionally, both the first and second generation 12G-SDI equalizer families are footprint compatible with MACOM's high-performance, low power 3G equalizer families, enabling customers to easily future proof their 3G-SDI designs for an easy migration to 12G.
